Anthony Dean Griffey travels to Southern Pines, NC this month for a solo recital at the Weymouth Center. The recital takes place on Sunday, February 15 and is a highlight of the Weymouth’s performing arts season. Ticket information and additional details can be found via the Weymouth calendar of events.
Following his recital, Anthony joins soprano Christine Goerke and baritone Nathan Gunn for a spectacular performance of Benjamin Britten’s ‘War Requiem, Op. 66’ at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The UNC Symphony Orchestra, led by Tonu Kalam, UNC’s Carolina Choir, the UNC Chamber Singers, and The Raleigh Boychoir will join them for this not-to-be-missed concert, taking place on March 5.
Mr. Griffey has previously sung the ‘Requiem’ to great acclaim, with the Seattle Times stating “And in the work’s most intensely and ravishingly beautiful movement, the Agnus Dei, the only word that suffices to describe the effect of Anthony Dean Griffey’s inspired singing is “sublime.”
